| Here's an illuminating idea
In the whole office, there are only four lamps, all with good reflectors. Years ago, all offices were lit like this. We should not try throwing out or changing lights. We should put them in the right places. And forget CFLs and wait for LEDs. Let's get real, please. .
Test results fuel boom in sales of bisphenol A-free baby bottles
The mounting public concern over bisphenol A, a chemical that mimics estrogen, has reached a boiling point in Canada in the past week after scientific reports and tests have shown the chemical can leach from baby bottles and may be harmful to children. Born Free is receiving about 100 phone orders a day from Canadian consumers, many of whom have been scouring stores only to find the products have already been snapped up, Mr. Vigdor said. "I'm hearing from mothers who say, 'I threw away everything, I need you to overnight me [the] product,' " he said. While the company is filling orders to individuals and retailers as quickly as it can, the demand has been high and many stores don't expect new stock from Born Free or other distributors, such as Green to Grow or ThinkBaby, for several more weeks.
CIA Claims Cyberattacks At Fault In Blackouts
Check more often than once a night on your Google homepage man. This week has had more 'conspiracy' theory evoking stories (usually from asinine comment posters) than the last few, but the majority of the stories HAVE been business related. And unlike some blog viewers, I don't mind the volume of copyright/IP stories. It's a shame that there ARE that many, but I'm not looking at this site for entertainment like some others are. Consumers lose out on generic-drug savings
Intense competition among generic drug makers has been a boon for pharmacies, but consumers aren't reaping the gains, the federal Competition Bureau said Monday. The marketing of generic drugs needs to be changed, the bureau said in a report, so individuals – along with the governments and insurance companies that pick up the cost of many drugs – can glean the benefits of lower drug prices. "Competition stops at the pharmacy level and does not accrue to the end payer," Competition Bureau commissioner Sheridan Scott said in a speech to the C.D. Howe Institute in Toronto Monday after the study was released. With 15 generic drug makers now selling into the Canadian market, competition is more intense than ever, Ms. Scott said. In 2005, 43 per cent of drugs dispensed in retail pharmacies in Canada were generics – the copycat drugs that can be sold only after patents expire on brand-name products.
